Can you wax the plastic

Im not sure if useing regular wax on the plastic will fade it or anything else. just wondering if i can use the same wax on the plastic as i do on the rest of the car.

some waxes will dull black rubber and some plastics. i personally keep off them when waxing.

Wait, is the plastic painted the same color as the car? Like the bumper? If so, thats urethane, not plastic, and yes you can wax it. If its straight plastic or rubber, like the diffuser on the rear bumper, then you will not use regular carnuba wax on that. If you let wax dry on these items it will turn them from black to white Carnuba wax works directly with paint and clear coat. Its not the material its painted on that matters, Its that it is painted. You can get plastic polish at most automotive stores. Its a different composite in plastic polish thats used to bring it out

i don't know if this is good for it or not but i sometimes do it and it makes it look brand new. on the black plastic pieces i just use tire shine lol it makes it look new again, even on old beat up cars. not sure if its good for it or not, i've done it a few times with different cars and never had any problems, just made the pieces look new

I use Meguiar's plastic cleaner/conditioner and it makes plastics and rubbers shiney and restore life
