There appears to be two different in cabin air filters available for the 2011-2012 M37/56: the one for the non-touring M (272771-MEOA) and the slightly more expensive grape seed polyphenol one for the M with the touring package (27277-1MEOB). Does anyone know if a non-touring package M can take the 27277-1MEOB filter designed for touring packages? It looks like it's an upgraded replacement filter and I was thinking to replace the one in my non-touring package M37 with it.

Thanks

I would be very surprised if the compartment was different between the two trims. Especially if it's otherwise the same between the two trims. I don't KNOW, but I would make the assumption if I was placing the order. I'd also appreciate it if you posted the dimensions of the filter, that way, on the off-chance that they are still the same as previous generations, I could try the grape seed polyphenol one for my 2006 M instead of using the charcoal one for the Q.

ETA: If I were smart, instead of making the assumption and ordering the filter I want, I would make sure by going to a walmart/auto-parts store and checking the computers to see what replacements are available for each package. Most likely the same replacements are available, but if not, I could still probably compare the replacements for size to see whether or not they are like in spite of the computer treating them different.

I ordered the grape seed polyphenol one-when it comes in, I'll definitely measure and compare against the original one that came with my non-touring M. I'll post my results after I do the replacement. Thanks Dustin.
