Can i use a Pulsar CA18DE ecu to run my car if i put an eprom chip flashed with maps for a CA18DET? Also does it have to be a manual trans ecu or can it be from an auto?

Thanx

Its my plan eventuly

also, there was a california guy who did it. jwt did the chip for him though. If u know how to do it, feel free to share the know-how.

Also, im not chipped... im just running the 'evil' SAFCII and my DE ECU seems alright. been riding around with it for a few months now.

BTW, I would think an auto would get pissed off not having a transmission to shift... or something.

And the answer is "No" due to the fact that the plug ends are different which means your harness will have to be reconfigured which is not worth it at all. However, the pulsar's ecu can eprommed to run the DET, though.

So i can be done it's just not plug and play. Hey dee got any CADET ecu's you want to sell for cheap. I ruined the one that i originally got from you with my swap about a year ago trying to remove the eprom that was covered in epoxy.

Dude, my ecu stash is down to N.A.D.A , but if one of these cats can't help you, I'll see if I can get one for you from someone.

Thanks dee. I have a couple leads right now that seem to be promising. I'll drop you a line or something if they all fall through.
