Had two dead knock sensors and 3 dying injectors replaced last week because of a bucking/stalling problem. When I got it back, I had some rough idle, and today highway bucking for 5 of the 45min commute home. Im thinking MAF now. Off to go get some electrical cleaner for it, but is there a way to determine whether it is dead or just dirty? Besides the obvious clean it and see if it works method... Any other ideas would be appreciated.5 of the injectors are new, 2 knock sensors just got replaced, fuel pump and fuel filter both replaced recently...

check the connection at your maf also. i do believe there is an updated connector. maf sensors don't normally throw codes. if it is obviously dirty cleaning it may help. do you have an after market oiled type filter? over oiling when you clean them can destroy a maf sensor. I'd inspect all of my plugs and the boots on the coils that haven't been replaced and probably put a maf sensor in it after that (if the car has the service history you explained) but first look closely at the connector. the maf does commonly fail on a car with that kind of age. good luck.

The little metal clip holding the electrical connector on is missing and the connector is being held on by electrical tape. I blame the dealership for that because that was the last time anyone went near that area... Not too happy about that, but its got a ziptie on it now until i can get another one. Where can I get a new connector? I didnt see one on IOS.

Air filter is stock, but its FRAM not OEM.... not my doing...

I wouldnt put a new connector on right away, normally Id try cleaning the connector and bending the pins slightly so that it gets a tighter connection..

Really the best way to know if a MAF is bad is to just swap it out with known good. Besides, even if thats not the problem, you have a spare MAF which is a good idea to have!

FWIW my MAF connector never had that metal clasp thing and its been fine. Never came unplugged or given me issues.

you can buy the connector at an infiniti or nissan dealership. I'm sure it's less than 20 dollars. does your car run better now that the connector is secured?
