I couldn't help but

I actually saw it in my rearview because I was parked opposite the dyno area. I saw the Nissan emblem and was trying to figure out what it was because the roll-up door was partially down to block the sun because they were filming the dyno runs for a show. I kept looking at the rear end, the light configuration and exhaust pipe configuration trying to figure out what the heck it was... and then it dawned on me as I was getting ready to drive out the gate. Of course I made an emergency stop, parked and ran over to watch the end of the run. When they were done, they pulled it out into the parking lot so a few people could take some pictures. It was a real treat to watch and hear...

I guess this is 1 of 3 or 4 in the States going through the paces with the various car magazines. We were just lucky that one our people knew one of the magazine people and arranged for them to do the runs on one of our Dynojets.

I actually asked if I could drive it around the parking lot and got a good natured but resounding NO from about 6 guys that were there. I did get to look inside pretty closely and I brushed up against it once or twice

They have a AWD dynojet? Take a pic of the chart if you can or was it just a top speed run? 1/4 mile? ..Nice Car!

I'm going to be the non-conformist here and say that it still looks like a mitsubishi eclipse with the proportions of a tonka truck.

A couple of things I believe the GTR only comes in a semi-manual setup, so there is the automatic mode and paddle shift mode, and as per the wheels, I believe the AWD drive shifts power around so I am assuming if its on the dyno, it will be all rw drive, where as on the track, when you take a corner it might shift it 20/80 etc, again I might be wrong, which is quite often LOL.

I think the normal split is something around 95% rear, 5% front, lol. The computer takes care of changing that up when the rear is swinging around.

Its definitely not the prettiest car, I still think the R34's and R33's look better. But then again, its not the ugliest car either. It could use some work on the front end though.

Somewhat true... but id peg it as a eclipse/mustang body style... with the engine of a tonka truck!

I didn't actually get to see the charts, but 441 BHP & 186 mph is what I was told when when I asked the tech. I got there just as it was hitting the top of the run and couldn't get close to the monitor because they were filming. We actually have 2 AWD dyno's, 1 RWD and 1 motorcycle (both Dynojets) as well as an engine dyno. There's some serious R&D that goes into the product that people just don't believe or know about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXaRCxHPtiQ

Unfortunately I can't comment on anything "currently" in development.... like the kit for the 2.5L coupe.

edited for grammar

Oh don't get me wrong, the engine is a masterpiece, its just the implementations they made to the designs, as well as the way that they are marketing the car is what makes me hate it.

You heard me, I hate it.

I have no idea what the hell you are talking about, but I'm referring to the GTR.

Its being marketed as a legend. You think their aim was to sell it to previous skyline owners? Their aim is to sell to people who know nothing about the previous GTRs, and basically make them think they have a god car. The GTR isn't a driver's car, its just an engineering masterpiece that was made for people who will end up buying it for a weekend cruiser. How many people do you think will actually buy one to tear up those "approved" tracks? For god's sake, I don't care how quick the transmission is, its still a freakin automatic with all sorts of computer assisted garbage. The only time this stuff is warranted in a car is in an F1 because those cars will constantly pound at your concentration.

The GTR is a road car with all the equipment of an F1, it basically drives itself in regular driving. What the hell is the point of driving a sports car that basically drives itself?

Some things just shouldn't be combined.

I work for K&N.

We are currently waiting for the 1st. articles from our fabrication dept. of the intake tube for the 2.5L coupe. They are really backed up right now so I expect it will be a couple of months before the final retail kit is released. When it does go, I'll see if a group buy can be arranged with our SCC business manager.

I don't know anything about the 3.5L as it doesn't look like anything is in dev. right now. Best thing to do is call K&N and drum up that demand.

Oh, and THIS just in....http://www.motortrend.com/road..._test
