Can you replace the gauge cluster in an 03 Pathfinder with a later model?

I need to replace my gauge cluster for my 2wd 03 Le Pathfinder and don't know where to turn . I have been looking for a used replacement but I'm not sure if I should limit my search to 2003 only or if I can get 01 and 02 ? I am also confused on where the mileage is stored ( in the speedo or in the computer).

Welcome to NICO!!The later model was entirely redesigned. I'm going with "no" on that one, but 01-03 should be the same -- I'll see if one of the more experience R50 Pathy people can chime in here. You MAY be able to use one from a 96-03, but I'd lean more toward. .well "no"

The dash was redesigned in 2001, and while the cluster looks similar, it probably won't fit.

case in point: I've been a 240sx guy for a LONG time. Some of us wanted to swap clusters from a 96 to a 97, and vice versa -- can't be done without cutting and splicing, despite being the same exact vehicle. .

Always wanted to know this myself, but I keep forgetting to ask. I have much to learn -- my vehicles in the past have all had standard mechanical odos.

Again, hoping the more experienced members will jump in here.

Hi. Wanted to clarify something. First of all you need to know what model it is and what is the most important - does it have VDC and LTP (low tyre pressure) control, is auto or manual?. If you have all of this - it is s....k because you have to find this cluster which is an original Nissan part #24820-5W974 (Canadian version - US could be a bit diff #) it it used on 2003-2004 Nissan Path SEs and LEs. It would cost you approx. (to get a new one) from the Dealer $700 approx. To find a used one close to impossible - too new to be taken apart. There are so many diff types of clusters for diff years and model that you have to take time and make some research on that. Hope it helps.P.S. Check the sticker on a back side of a cluster - it is your cluster's part # so look for exactly the same.

Mileage stored in the cluster itself not in a ECU. It is a small microchip which is responsible for that inside of a cluster.
