Can you replace an S13 front with an S14 front clip?

A local body shop guru is helping me out and doing about $800 of body work for my S14 front clip.

He has an S13 and is worried it won't fit. I'm not sure either.

Would the S13 engine cross member fit on the S14 front end? Is the S13 wider?

I don't think you understand the question. I'm not talking about fender and headlight brackets.

His front end is smashed and hine is not. He's going to be welding on my entire front clip onto his chassis.

yeah it will fit. tell him to get on nico and check people's rides out. the S14 is wider externaly and marginaly wider wheel base but it all works out in the end.

Yes, he's cutting the front off of Mr. Red and welding it onto his S13.

Can anyone confirm 2 more things for me.

S13 and S14 engine crossmember is the same?

Will S14 fender fit well with the doors on his S13 chassis?

it will fit but they wont fit flush like s13 fenders do with the doors, it will be slieghtly wider kinda like running over fenders. as far as motor crossmember do you mean transmission crossmember? because the KA sits on 2 motor mounts both on each side of the car not a cross member. or are you asking about the subfame?

i dont know if they are the same for sure but considering you can swap a S14 KA or SR and S13 KA or SR without mods to the mounts then it will work and fit reguardless. is he planning on using a KA or SR? S13 or S14?

He's sorta undecided.

One of his buddies wants to sell him an SR20 but its really beaten up -front plate has a hole in it, turbo is crunched up, and its missing fuel injectors.

I think he's going to end up going KA for at least a while until he can save some money.

Removing the front clip frame rails and all is a ton of work. I don't know if the frame rails will be the same, so there might need to be some plating done to pull it off. He is till going to have the same issue with the S14 fender/ door lines matching the s13 lines. Steering racks have some play in them, but overall I think its a hassle and will be a hell of a project to do it wrong.

he should buy the SR and rebuild it and buy a good KA to drop in to drive the car while he is doing the rebuild on that SR, because he works in a shop it shouldnt be a big deal to swap out motors more often than most people would

Personally, I think that SR20 would be more trouble than its worth.

The guy wanted almost $1000 for that broken engine.

Anyone know of someone who has done this type of swap?

Thinking back to rotted frame rails, S13 frame rail sections are no longer available form Nissan Motors. I have yet to hear of anyone using S14 frame rail replacement to fix a rotted S13.

Cut the losses.
