So i dont actually need the turbo, need to get an exhaust leak, pretty sure i wont pass emissions till i do, im pretty sure its the gasket on the exhasut manifold, cylinder 5,but its to hard to tell, originally i was going to pull the engine.. But i know if i did that itd be out for a while cuz i would redo all the seals and clean alot of it up, im already planning on building the engine slightly this winter and cohld do all that then, cuz theres nothing serious yet, just leaks.. Anyways my buddy talked me out of pulling the engine for now saying it could be ontop of the down pipe, and we could pull that in an hour, get a new gasket and see if it fixed it, well got most of it off, dont think the leak was there, but we caused another problem, one of the 4 bolts sheared off in the turbo! :( he thinks he can drill it out, or we may try welding to it if possible.. Anyways since we have all this off, is there any writes up or anything to just pull the turbo the rest of the way? It sure is cramped in there lol, is it even possible? Cuz i already have a new exhaust manifold gasket, thanks

I'd say that it's possible, but would be an incredible PITA that would not be the case with the engine on a stand and require some specialty tools (and approach positions- car jacked WAY up, awkward work positions, etc.) to access some places.
After playing the "incredibly tight and cramped and nearly impossible to move" game with my Z over the years with several projects, when it came time for my engine/trans/turbo work I could not get myself to commit to that amount of pain and struggle/lost personal time and had it done by a pro who did it ALL in a week+ instead of months or year+ (my best possible speed).
Your call!

The FSM has a write up, look under engine mechanical page 38. But as DCaff said, it will be an extreme PITA.

If you are willing to mess with the heads, you can always pull the head off although at that point pulling the engine would probably be easier.

I'd pull the engine and do it on the bench, even if it takes a bit longer there's a lot less frustration and you can easily tackle anything else that needs attention while it's out.
