Can you make the AWD lock permanent on 2015 Rogue SV?

Right now, if you turn on the lock function, it turns the indicator light on the dash, but turns off when I go over 40 km/h. Is there a way to have awd on even if I go over the 40km/h speed? There are times in deep snow that I would be going higher than that speed but would like awd locked on. Thanks.

Yeah, nope, you can't do this. The system's not designed to be used that way.

you will burn out the transfercase, rear differential & clutchpacks. you cant even drive backwards in our(and most) non-all-time-awd vehicles.

true awd is waaaaay over rated. it makes you spin like a top, in one spot. thats why even cars that are "all-time awd" are actually not exactly what they may seem to be. they can be all-time awd, but what you dont know is that its a "power split"; meaning 80/20 power split, but they are NOT 50/50 power split. dont let that get to your head. most of those cars are either mostly front or rear wheel drive. they are not a 50/50 power split.

some cars work like this: once the car detects the slip, power is applied to the opposite end. so if your rear wheels slip, power is reduced from the rear, and applied to the front. subaru claims its them giving power from the wheels that slip, to the wheels that grip.

some cars, like ours, kick in the rear wheels, when the front ones slip.

dont do that, unless you are on snow/ice. this way the slippery surface will allow the tires to slip, if the clutchpacks have problems. if you do this on normal road surface, the tire wont slip, causing the clutchpacks in the rear carrier to grind

The only reason bought the 4WD was because I purchased at model year end and they didn't have 2wd in stock.
