My 05 G35 had a kick a** sub setup. All you need to do is use the high level speaker output from the rear door speakers to an amp that will accept high level input. Then its pretty straightforward...no need for any thing else (like JL cleansweep or similar products).

Search the forum for pics and info of my setup...If you were closer, I'd sell you my old box. It was custom fit for the coupe.

ummm, no. Mine sounded great! The bose system sounds fine, it just needs more punch for the low end.

Don't take my word for it, I had a stereo-file give his approval on the system at a NOPI event a few years ago.

what if you have a coupe? should you just split off the rear deck speakers instead of the rear door ones?

I had a coupe...the rear door speakers are the "subs" for the car. I still wanted the rear deck for fill.

Same question but we have a 04 Sedan..it has the Bose "sub" in the back deck...could I not take those leads into my amp then out to my aftermarket sub ??

Yup, but check the service manuals to see if the inputs are high or low level. In my 09 sedan they are low level inputs that go to a sub amp mounted on the speaker. You'd think it would sound better...

Here's the FSM for an 04 sedan: http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Sedan/2004/
