I am looking to buy a 240sx and have recently decided to go with an S14 chassis but i am mainly looking into the 97/8 style cause of the more aggressive front end. While looking i am restricted to a lot of picture shopping till i find one that interests me. Many of these sellers are unsure if they have abs or not and in order to keep from hassleing each one into checking their dash lights and checking for L.S.D. i am trying to see if i can tell from the pics of the engine bays.. i.e. more brakelines or location of brakelines. if someone can help me it would be greatly appericiated.

follow the hardlines from your brake master cylinder. They'll lead you to another big box thing with little bleeders on it. It will have tubes go in and tubes go out. There's your abs. If your lines just happen to diappear somewhere to the front and to the rear omg! you don't have abs. voila mystery solved.

Here's a pic of my S13 with ABS. The ABS unit is in the upper left hand side of the second picture. It's the metal thing with the hard brake lines coming out of it. I imagine an S14 ABS unit would look very similar.

Sorry, I can't link directly to the picture.

The placement of the ABS unit on the S14's is just about in the exact same place. A big box with hard tubes coming out of it placed right in front of the pax in the engine bay.

It appears that the actual look of the unit is a little different, but close enough.
