All of you have seen this house, probably more than once. Yet, you probably can't place it.

Who can correctly identify it.

Note, if you live in Southern California, you're not eligible to play.

Hint, when you saw it, it was white. They actually had to repaing the house due to all the people stopping and bothering the tenants and blocking traffic while taking pictures of it.

It is being torn down to make room for a development.

Name this house.

From the right side.

From the front.

Why is this house famous?

Yep, you've seen the front pourch in Top Gun. Tom Cruise rode his Kawasaki up the short hill from the Strand (the street on the beach) to Pacific Ave, and knocked on that front door. The dinner was on a patio that isn't part of that house, but the house behind that one, and it's been torn down.

Here is the beach cruiser...At the marina.

Here's the Strand (the 3 mile long beach cruise speed limit 15mph.) That's the Oceanside pier in the background. They call it the Oceanside Municiple Fishing Pier because it's in Oceanside, people fish off it and it's a pier. Clever huh?

More strand

And Tamarack, best surfing beach in NoCounty.

My wife alredy deleted all the bikini pictures, even the shaved grannies for Sean. Sorry guys, but I have to live in peace here.

I live about 5 or 6 miles inland of the beach now. I went to Jr. HS and HS in Oceanside. Many, many fond memories. For the last three summers, I've rented a vert and spent the week acting like I was in HS again. Back then, we would cruise the Strand endlessly and "meet" as many of the young ladies who came to town on vacation as possible. We'd take them to the submarine races at night and let them touch our surfboards.

Well, it's been 5 days of crusing with the top down. I've yet to put it up. It's goint to be hard to give it back Monday.

So far, it's really a blast. It's mileage is about 15 to 20% better than the G for a similar trip. It has adequate power, but not up to the G. It turns 2100 RMP at 70mph which beats the G by a wide margin. The ride is harsh compared to the G and speed bumps are to be feared.

I've got a sunburn and I add to it each day. I love summer in SoCal.

A little while back the City of O'side was selling that same house for $1, the only catch was that you had to haul it away.

Bob, got a Vert with your name on it! Only $10K and will smoke a G!!!!

Did I mention that I love my G Coupe lately!!!! Only thing is the window was rattling. Evidetnly, I have a screw loose!!

Actually, missing a bolt. Then, I finally got around to the SQUEELING brakes. Took the pads off the front and put some anti-squeeky goo on them. Still squeeky, so will do the back next weekend...

Thinking about putting a COBRA on the fender to fix it.....
