Okay, So I need new brake pads and rotors, and was looking around at my options.I could get normal rotors, but my dad's price through his work is $113 CDN and thats apparently per wheel. And Brake pads are $33 per wheel.I found cross-drilled rotors, which would end up being cheaper than the normal rotors, but I have to buy them off the internet. And I would still buy brake pads through my dad's work.

But I was wondering if the cross-drilled rotors could be cut when I have to change the brake pads? I was told they could be, but only at certain places, not very many businesses have machines that can cut them. Are they right or not? Let me know, thanks.

They can be cut. I have done it numerous times. No matter what someone tells you, it is just like resurfacing any other rotor.....

Do you use a diamond tip or a drum style lathe? The tip style machines don't like holes and slots. Not saying it can't be done, but more often than not the wear to the equipment is not worth it for most shops to do.Locally, no one with the newer machines will touch my rotors, I found a machine shop with an old school lathe that scuffed 'em down for me for a 12 pack of beer when I had them done.
