Anyone with a multi-meter and a couple minutes, I need to be sure of something and I can't find it in the fsm (probably not looking hard enough).
I need to verify the resistance of the pos. wire that goes from the positive terminal to the fuse link. Thanks.

Should be a direct run with no resistance.

So if I'm getting 3.6 at both the fuse link (1 post to the other) and the wire then I've got an issue? Thanks ace.

What issue are you trying to track down? Theoretically it should be 0, but 3 ohms isn't exactly a large amount.

Well, a couple weeks ago, my starter fried and the car died. I couldn't get it start back up so I had it towed home. I then proceeded to pull the starter and replace it with a new one, but as I was removing it, I realized that the insulation on the positive cable had melted. I ordered a new set of battery cables and once I got them installed, the motor continued to rotate very very slow. Similar to a dead battery. I'm in the process of pulling all the plugs to try to rotate the motor by hand. I'm thinking the timing belt broke because when I tried to start the car after installing the battery cables, the motor seemed to only spin a quarter or so revolution. I watched the crank pulley while I had someone try to start it.

Update:

I pulled the upper timing cover and the belt looks fine (not broken). It does seem to have more slack than what I know from my z31's. Also, when I push on the belt, the tensioner moves. Is that right? The motor is definitely stuck where it's at. I can only rotate the motor about 15-20deg. I'm thinking the belt slipped. In order to check the belt alignment I should try to line up the marks at tdc correct?

One more question. Could I be looking at a broken clutch or maybe the clutch fork?
