I like them, looks kind of like a z. I've never been a huge fan of pop up headlights and they are probably my least favorite part of the 240 body work. Also, I think these headlights would be lighter and less complicated and therefore, there would be one less thing that could break. To each his own though.

personally, i think headlights make or break a cars front end. for example, i love the kouki lights vs. any s13 or zenki. i really really dig the new vette z06 headlights being out in the open instead of sleeping. if a car has the right front nd for some sweet headlight, let there be light. but these headlights, look too much like a Z. we need a further away pic, next to a z. same angle. someone do it.

They look sharp. Looks like they can be made fairly easy. Maybe some lexan and the original cover. You should try it with an old pair.

If I am not mistaken, those are the Veilside lights, no longer made. I like them, I have always considered the 240SX the Z's little brother, so I think it is somewhat fitting.

Further, am I mistaken or is his hood off alignment?

And I am not so certain of that. The bifurcated lights do look like the AbFlug, but it also looks like the veilside to me.

alittle worked up cause i don't see how someone could get these two lights mixed up, look at the top part of both lights, the Veilside is stright across and the Ab-Flug Grims lights are slanted.

OK, I think I see that, in any case this is just splitting hairs. The two are near identical products, both of which are not sold anymore.

But the red lights do show a good picture, you can almost see how they are made. These are no longer made but perhaps you can work something out. I know a guy who once got his hands on some aircraft grade aluminum for a project of his. The clear pieces appear to be glued on, you can see that torwards the leading edge, plus there are screw holes on the four corners and trailing edge. The next part would be wiring and making it nice and watertight. I suspect that's where the glue comes in. It's used less for holding and more for water repellant.

I actually think that you can do these mostly with handtools, if you are willing to put in some extra time and intelligence.

If I can find a set of pop up headlights for cheap, I will try to fab something up, but I'm not going to take a chance on the ones I've got now, too risky!, it actually looks pretty easy!

You live in Illinois, aren't there alot of junkyards in the midwest? I know there is a HUGE one near my grandpa's in Indiana. There was even a Yugo in there!!!

I was thinking actually something from scratch. That is a triangular shape so it is strong to begin with. I remember riveting leather from my days in the Boy Scouts. There is a used machine tool shop near me that should have something.

Of course, I want to get my "Super sleepy eyes" going first.

Looking at these lights closely leads me to believe they are modified early Silvia lamps. Specifically the non-projector kind. Heres a pic for reference:

I bet with a little effort you could make your own pair. I know that http://www.courtesyparts.com sells them for a decent price.

I think those lights are too long, they won't fit in the pop up space.....but good idea anyway!!
