Remote wire connects to the blue/white wire on the back of your stereo and tells the amp to turn on. I'm gonna guess that that isn't hooked up?

you will need:1.) power wire from battery to amp2.) ground from amp to ground3.) remote wire from HU to amp4.) RCA cable from HU to amp5.) speaker wires from amp to subs

You can add a sub to the stock bose HU. I know because that's what I have right now, sounds good for me. I have a 10" sub with a 250watt amp hooked up for the past 3 years. Will eventually get an aftermarket alpine hu just because.

I bought an adapter from best buy, scosche was the brand adapter. i don't think they have it inside the store. but if you enter from the installation shop they should have one back there. the adapter has some wires that you splice into the factory speaker wires giving you rca hookups and a remote wire. works like a charm. if i get some time I'll take a picture of what it looks like.
