Can we start the engine with remote ?

No. That was not an available option on the vehicle. I asked about it when I bought the car a couple weeks ago because my trade-in had it and in this area it REALLY comes in handy. However, I was told it wasn't possible with the keyless ignition employed in the M.

But then when I went to pick up the car 2 days later, they had signs plastered all over the dealership saying "Now Available! Remote Car Starters". So I guess you can have them added on now. I asked and was told it's $499 + install. Haven't sprung just yet because it didn't seem like it was integrated into the existing remote and I didn't want to have to carry two. I want to see what others say about it before getting one.

This 3rd party option is available on all cars now and does not involve using any current remote.
