I hate to beat a dead horse...its more fun if its alive....however I just wanted to know if we can get some pictures of the filing of the connecting bolt for the factory or ss braided brake lines on a Z32 upgrade?????

I do very well with the pictures....I have been able to do so much from this site just on the strength of the pictures of course and articles......

Are you looking for pics of the "has been filed", "being filed" or a "before and after" ... I guess it doesn't matter, cause Wes (elwesso) is the one that *might* have these.

You can try emailing him directly.

Let's try beating a dead mule for a while, for a change

I am still waiting for my SS lines. When they come it, I will take some pics of the calipers, connections and lines for you all.

Since the factory lines have banjo type connections, that require a very clean smooth surface to seal, and the Z32 calipers have a flared fitting with a rough cast surface on the caliper, I would be hesitant to use the banjo fitting, even if I had new brass washers.

If I was insistent on using the factory lines, I would be inclined to have the connector surface machined first, to ensure a very good seal. This would cost much more than the SS conversion lines.

Another thing is, you wouldn't have the added pedal feel of the harder SS lines with the factory rubber lines.

Either way you go, you really need to replace the lines, since 12 to 15 year old brake lines are about due for replacement. I bet the factory lines cost more than the conversion SS lines.

-more deceased equine abuse

Just wanted to know if anyone has pictures. I have never changed calipers and lines before. I already bought the stainless steel lines for my other Q which is now a parts car. Either way I will do the job I just wondering if there where picks....

I'm getting ready to make this swap to my Q45. Bought the calipers as recommended by Wes, and found some Nissan factory drilled rotors from a guy in Japan.

I'll take pics of the process, and even document my mistakes. Just hope the parts get here before the snow falls.

I've got the same setup but I'm going with the R32 fronts instead of Z car. I got a good deal on NOS calipers. Keep me posted on your progress.

BTW - I'm all for the stainless lines. The stock pedal feel on my Q BLOWS! Back-to-back with my wife's SAAB is an eye-opener.

You can (and I will) have custom stainless lines made up at any Earl's distributor. Just ask around.

The same lines we need for our Qs are already made, I have had R32 calipers with 13" rotors on my Maxima and needed custom lines. http://www.mattblehm.com sells special relocation kit for Maximas to use Z32/R32 calipers on 04 Maxima 12.6" rotors, and hes got custom lines that allow you to mount these calipers with no modifications. I'm sure he will sell you guys the lines separately. I bought his relocation kit with just front lines for 180 bux a while back. I removed these brakes off my Maxima due to too much offsprung weight and messed up brake bias.
