Hi.I live in lansing MI where is not infiniti dealers. When my car has problem or needs some parts, I have to go to Nissan dealer. However the dealer always overcharges to me. For example I needed bulbs behind the climate control. The dealer charged $5.15 per bulb. It sucks. So I need to diagnotic program to be able to check my car by myself. Can I have the program and connector things? Thanks.

Yes, you can buy connectors and software that will do a lot of the same things your Nissan dealership's Consult machine can do. There are numerous options out there: try searching for "Nissan Consult" and "Consult II" with your favorite search engine. Just make sure you get an OBD-II Consult and not OBD-I, or it won't work on your car.

Another thing to consider is not authorizing the dealer to do anything without first asking you. That's what I do. If there's anything beyond what we agreed on initially, they call me and discuss it. That way, in a situation like yours with the bulb, I'd tell them not to fix it and then I'd buy a bulb somewhere else and replace it myself.

If you found a Consult II for $150. BUY IT!!!! That is unbelievably cheap. The standard low price is $1500. + A decent OBD2 scan tool will cost you around $90.

Okay, that is not an actual Consult II unit. It does the same things, kinda, but an actual Consult II is really advanced, and expensive.

Look at your local auto parts store, and see what OBDII scan tools they have.

Thank for concern.I just want to get rid of a check engine light on the car.If I go to the repair shop, they charge about $100 to me for only a test and then replace some parts... It will be couple of hundred... I can't do that.

Do you think does the blaZt things have worth for my car or just go to machenic? I'm really really concerning about CEL.Thanks.

I got a OBD II cable and software which is Nissan data scan 1.52.I connected my car to laptop. It said "ECU ID: 0 active" So I put the ID:0 to software and then click "connect"... It doesn't work. I don't know what I can do. Could you tell me about the software, if you have exprience? Thanks.

Never used that one, so I can't help you. I've used the first-gen stuff from http://www.obd-2.com , it's pretty simple, plug it in, pick the right serial port, and hit connect. if it doesn't work, well, it's a user problem, because the program's hardware interface is pretty simple. :o

I went to repair shop where I used to go.The guy scaned my car by OBD II.He told me there is no error code even CEL is right on.He erased the CEL right and scaned again. There is also nothing. It is OK.

But I'm still looking for OBD II tool. Anyway thanks for advices.
