Like the title says, Can Warn Hubs Fit Under '01 LE Center Caps?

I want to get warn hubs to help my fuel mileage, but want the vehicle to appear stock.

This means that I dont want to drive around without center caps or cut into them. I looked into getting spares to cut up, but they go for about 45 a piece on ebay.

At that price, I'd just but another set of '01 rims -> http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rch/p ... 87625.html
(Anyone is the area, this is a really good deal)

I've seen some pictures of warn hubs just poking through a cut hole, but I think I also remember a picture of a really shallow manual hub.

Perhaps it was another brand :gotme

Does anyone have any experience with this?

PS, I realise that I will have to take off the center caps everytime I want to lock the hubs. But winter and camping are the only times I need 4wd, so I'm fine with keeping them covered.

Nope, as far as Warns or Mile Markers go, this is the best you can do:

Hmm.

After some searching, I found a pic of 01Silverpathy's wheels

This is why I thought they would fit under.

But now that I thnk about it, I think he has wheel spacers...

chris.m, did you ever get the locking hubs? also do you have the auto 4wd function? I've read that you can't use them if you do but I've also seen conflicting info saying you can. I'm not sure if I can use them or not.

Nah, I never got them. If it can't look stock, I don't really want them.

I hear ya there, I kinda feel the same way. I wonder tho how thick of a wheel spacer you would need to keep them hidden.
Does anyone know if it's ok to use them with the dial selector 4x4 system found in 2001+ R50?

They're ok to use as long as you don't switch into Auto mode (or 4wd mode for that matter) while the hubs are unlocked.
