Just venting, My girl breaks up wit me, doesnt really give me a reason, does it over the phone while im at work. SOOooo... I get pissed leaves the job, cussing out the boss cuz he tried to stop me. Now, im home, jobless, girlless....

can it get any worse?

the sad thing is, i most likey wont be getting the job back...... it was a real good job tho considering that im only 19 ;( it was in a law firm, making $20 an hour, didnt do too much, i was online most of the time, just had to type and file and such....

I guess lesson learned here... never run off your mouth to others no matter how mad u are....

Screw calling your boss. Show up in person, apologize profusely, explain what happened but don't turn an explanation into an excuse. Explain why you should be allowed back to work and that you will not allow something like this to happen again. Then apologize again.

dude sorry to hear about your girl, but losing your job... that didn't need to happen. Don't call the boss back, show up in person tomorrow and apologize. If he has a heart he'll take ya back. 20 bux an hour is awesome for being 19.And if the boss doesn't take ya back, tell him off again and go get a better job

I went back in person to apologize.... and to find out that he has already found another person.... huh.... kinda surprising.....

Anyways, he said that he cant fire the new person just becuz I showed up again... so therefore I cant get my job back.

O well.... time to find a new job... hope it wont be too hard. wish me luck guys.

And for my girl? (Ex) She called me to say sorry to me and that she wasnt in the right state of mind and just didnt know why she had done that...

well I still didnt take her back cuz I just think that she had a reason to say that to me. It just makes no sense jsut to say it to anyone u know..? Hope i made the right choice.

Says who? I worked in restaurants for 5 years, and $20/hr is probably average, if not low. Keep in mind shifts are usually only 4-6 hours long in a lot of places. You'd be amazed how much cash you bring in. It was a freaking pay cut when I left the food industry for the aerospace industry!

I know this is gonna sound mean, but.... You just lost your job over a girl???? That is just plain stupid! You had a job making $20 dollars an hour, where you didn't even have to work hard. I would do bad things for a job like that. I am 27 years old and in the same field since 1997 (started when I was 20), working for local government and only make 12 something an hour. What were you thinking?

There is no woman or piece of a$$ that is worth me losing my job. I dont care if I have been dating her for three years and am in love (unless she is rich, and wanted me to quit my job). I would of course drink and smoke more, but $20 dollars and hour would help me buy a new girl friend.

At least you are still young. At 19 you can make mistakes like this and recover. At 27 this could screw your life up for a year or two. Will your ex boss give you a good reference? If so, you should be able to find a simular job, sooner or later. But it sounds like you had a gravey job.

DAEDALUS, the only time I made near 20 and hour in the food service was delivering pizza. I worked three days a week five hours a day. 5 dollars and hour + one dollar for every delivery + tips = not too bad.

Local economies vary of course. I'm definitely not referring to any kitchen jobs, only tipped ones. I've worked on both sides of the wall, and kitchen jobs kinda suck. Bussing, waiting tables, and bartending is where the money's at. Even in a cheap, high volume restaurant, you can sell $500-1000 of food/drink per night. Kiss a lot of A, and you can turn an average 18% tip on those sales. Work in a busy, long-established restaurant that locals dine at, and which has a lot of regulars. Don't work where a lot of tourists eat. The best places have a line for the best positions, so be ready to start at the bottom. Bussing tables for a year or two for not a lot, and then with any luck you get promoted to food service.
