If it's anything like the Armada/Titan, then you need to remove the steering wheel to get to it. Which means the airbag has to be removed. Not a terribly difficult process, but if you have any qualms about removing a device that has the potential to severely injure or even cause death and/or you don't want to accidentally allow the clockspring to inadvertently be unwound during the removal of the wheel, then I suggest letting the dealer handle it. I did mine, in the Titan, and it wasn't nearly that pricey. But I think newer ones light up so that might be part of any additional cost. Of course, they may be charging more for the Infiniti parts as well.
