completed my disassemble today and it was just as everyone elses. quarter size chunk laying on the lip near the oil pump chain, top driver side tension guide broke in 2......and keep in mind, I drove this car from New Hampshire to Maryland. i am wondering if these pars are kept in stock in the md/va/dc area. or will i have to order and wait a week to put everything back together? I'm still gathering info. on what pieces besides the guides, i need to get. my tensioners look and are tight.

well, took the plunge today. $437.00 for guides/bolts/oil chain/ tensioners and seal from InfinitiPartsusa.com (Kevin). eta, Friday. looking at the chains, they look good though the driver side is a little wimpy. most likely due to fact that the guide it ride along is completely gone. I do have a shop vac and will try that in the oil pan. yesterday, tapping the starter to break the crank bolt, after initial break, i turned it one more time and it accidentally started though for a split second. hopefully didn't hurt nothing. Crank pulley was tight on the crank so oil pressure didn't fall. did have a little puddle under the car for that split second. I still cant believe I made it home all the way from New Hampshire. All Praise to GOD!I did get the oil pump chain. how do you determine if a chain has stretched and how much?? Is it possible to remove upper timing cover with out removing valve cover? Has anyone noticed a different cas on there car? I was attempting to set timing according to the illustration on here and the pic of the cas is different than mine. the plate on my cas is metal and instead of the pin, i have notches evenly spaced except for for one. I assume the one is the timing mark. can I post the link to a pic of the cas? I think the timing cover has been off at some point. the liquid gasket color used was a shade brown. though water pump was the standard blue.the only guides that are plastic are the straight ones on the timing chain.slack ones I believe. of course the driver was gone and the passenger was on its way out. Get this done and onto the transmission. figure out why it is in limp mode. it wont shift manually into lower gears. and in drive, it don't want to go into 4th. it will shift up through all gears if I accelerate it, but as soon as i let off the gas, it down shifts to third. when cruising, it wont go or stay in OD 2nd and 3rd are the gears I'm rolling in. I don't believe it's mechanical. the transmission is smooth through all gears when accelerating and even when it downshifts. no noises at all. park to drive-reverse-drive is smooth. my slip and tc light is on and I think they may be related. I just got the consult cable and am trying to get it to communicate with the ecu. right now problem with com port. I got the serial one with the usb adapter. adapter drive installed. any advice or thoughts on what i posted is welcomed.
