I was wondeing if this can be done? I have 3000 dollars to go towards a my 89 s13 car. I was wondering if i could turbo it with that amount of money? I have really nothing to start out with, except what spec I want to go for(boost around 7-10 psi). I am getting a whole 89 s13 for $400. That knocks me down to $2600. I can get a z31 T3 turbo for a decent price, but I have to think about all the rest. Is it possible? I also have to do a rebuild on the engine. I have doubts, but am hopeing for the best. Any other questions? Thanks Mike

Yeah you can get an intercooled z31 setup with that and run 7psi with a RRFPR instead of larger injectors and a computer upgrade. All this can be done for about $2000 depending on how much you get the parts for.

You could

Should you?: Do a compression test then I will answer this question

In addition, why did you ask if it can be done for $3000 when you only had $2400 to spend. I know I know, you just wrote it and didnt pay attention but still. Guess I am just in a bad mood today (but I am really not, hmph).

If you have to do a rebuild i would say that would can't rebuild and turbo for $2600, or should i say i wouldn't. I would rebuild it right and with it rebuilt keep it in good condition and turbo it later.

If you are going to use mostly used parts and do most of the labor yourself, you could. I would keep an eye on ebay for deals on a lot of items you will need.

I wouldn't go off spending all your money on turbo stuff when you buy a $400 dollar car. Make sure the car is in good mechanical order first.
