I'm trying to eliminate the super hicas system. I just bought the car today and I don't think I want it. does it weigh much? I'd like to completely remove it. thanks for any help.

I wouldn't.I loved my HICAS.

But you can buy a HICAS eliminator kit.

I believe tomei makes one. . It should just. . lock it in to place. As for removal, I'm not for sure.

I still don't understand why someone would want to ditch that system. Was the best part of my S13. But, just my opinion I guess.

I want control when drifting. with that system the car feels a little weird and I'm not sure how it will respond when there is more power involved. so... I'd rather have the back solid where I know what it's going to do.

I dunno. . I never experience any problems while drifting with my HICAS system. . worked very well, actually.

Never understood why someone would wanna remove it. . I can't speak for race cars, however. But on the street? Holy crap that thing handled very well due in LARGE part to the entire HICAS system. (can't blame the rws for all of it, that is)

well I can't say I've driven a 240 without hicas on it. so I don't know the behavior of it. basically I had a rx7 and it had a suspension bushing that would allow the rear to feel as though it was stepping out slightly. actually the body of the car would pivot on this bushing and wheels would stay put. basically I want a car that is stationary in the back end. I don't want to risk the hicas failure in a corner. plus I don't want to fix it when/if it breaks:) I don't think it handled better with the hicas, just felt different. I'm not sure it can slalom or run a circuit faster. but I can't say for sure.

It's all personal preference :D I just never understood the hate for it. . and yer NOT alone by any means haha. .

I thought it was awesome :D

If the HICAS fails, it locks the wheels straight. I had it disabled once when my power steering fluid was too low.

It'll automagically shut itself down. .
