Car: lots of unique hot rods, and customs, with modern engines, and a good truck to pull the trailer.

I was wondering if the front hubs and subframe could be switched over so that the pan would clear,(maybe). If you used the subframe and rack, then with the hubs(due to the rack relocation) if would fit right?I am not sure about the dimensions, at all.But was just thinking about that while watching tv, and thought I would mention it to see, who already has found it is not possible.

I figured it was not like a BMW, but since they have a lot in common in suspensions and such, Was just curious. That and some of the best ideas get overlooked sometimes. Thanx

I think he means the front subframe and crossmember, not the rear...

Yeah, it was one of the 'tequila' related thoughts.

My question is really, what is the possibilities of swapping in the front crossmember/rack/ hubs(due to steering relocation) into the Z32. I am quite sure it is not possible, but would like to know if it has been tried, thought of, mostly to put this idea to rest. I am sure there is a width difference in the front frame. Just an idea, as i said, tequila was involoved in the initial thought of 'could it happen'

I've eyed it before (have both engineless Z and Q45) and the engine bay of the Q definitely appeared wider (I believe I did measure this) but on top of that the strut towers are, if I remember correctly, closer to the firewall than the Z's meaning the subframe would be essential an equal distance away, which is where they get the extra space for the front sump. I'll have to double check that but I'm pretty sure they were closer.

Our 90-96 Q45's were G50 presidents... Our 97-01 Q45's were Cimas...

If the z32 had its swaybar at the rear of the front x-member it may almost take a front sump, as from memory that was the main thing in the way. Other than that its quite open (I think).
