I am a recent convert from an 07 M45S to an 11 M56S. Love the new car, tons of fun to drive, better gas mileage, and quite comfy.

Here's the thing. The sun visors on the M45 was one of the best solutions I've ever seen, and I (only somewhat) joked about how great they are no matter the sun's position. Any ideas why they removed the dual visor or the extension panel?

Otherwise, I am curious to know if the measurements are the same for the primary visor between the M56 and M45. My local dealer can get the dual visor for a good price but I do not know if they are anywhere near the same length, but ordering then returning it is not preferred b/c of the custom order and restocking fees. Is anyone willing to check out their M45 (didn't know if the 35 had them) and tell me the distance from the middle of the pivot point to the middle of the clip?

Much appreciated!

My 98 Park Avenue had that visor setup as well. I can't understand why any car wouldn't have that, seems like I'm always driving into the sun at such an angle that I need my visor in both places or going around a corner where I need it extended past my head, yet it seems harder and harder to find. I feel for you enough that I just went to my unheated garage barefoot to get a measurement. On my steel tape, it looks to be less than 1/16 shy of 10 inches exactly from the center of the post to the center of the clip.

I don't really want to put a cheap add-on in this kind of car, if I can replace it with OE equipment then I'd rather go in that direction.

Not sure I understood which if the visors you were on about, so I did both:
.

.
Main Visor:
red line widest point: 14.5 inches
blue line height: 6.75 inches
yellow line attach points: 10.5 inches
green line space on headliner: 15 inches
.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

Small Visor:
red line widest point: 12 inches
blue line height: 6 inches

This visor is attached via what appears to be a holder that is glued on, but it's so tightly held,
that I suspect that is has bolts on the other side. AND, knowing Infniti, you probably need to
remove the entire windscreen to get to them, LOL.

Hope this helps!

Interesting. Just took measurements of the driver's visor in the M56S, and it is the same as the ones that Larz posted. :dblthumb:

I'm very surprised to hear that Infinit stopped using ths kind of double visor. On long road trips with straight motorways, when the sun is coming at you from the driver side, it's a Godsend to have that main visor with extension across your window with that extra visor tilted down across the windscreen. At least now we know that it can be added to the newer M's since they are all the same size.
