Ok i've got a problem.

I have a 90 240 shell that i swapped a 93 KA24DE motor into, i was the last person to drive the car before i swapped the motor out. So i know the motor is good The motor sat for like 3 months till 2 days ago. I did an oil change on it put 93 octane gas in it and new plugs blah, blah..nothing internal, just the basics. i tried starting it after checking all my s***, air, gas, spark. and it wouldn't turn over..so i read a thread and it was my timing...long story short i pulled my dizzy out and s*** i turned the gear on the end untill the car started....now the problem is i hear a f***ing pinging noise...like there is something flying around??? Could it be that i advanced my timing too far??? another thing is that it dies out.....i have to rev it to keep it on...i read that this could be detonation is there any way i can fix this problem before the motor completely needs to be rebuilt...fyi the motor has 120k on it.

you'll need to reset everything to base timing. Look in the tutorials it's in there. Type tutorials in the search page.
