check out this site. http://www.geocities.com/jvxdriver/eagle_eyes.htm looks pretty cool and seems easy to do. anyone ever try this? How hard is it to take about the light assembly? Any instructions on doing so? And where would i connect the wires to get them to light up? Seems like a cool mod for the Js projection headlights.

Problem is the shiny reflective housings scatter the light, ruining the "halo" effect.

Considered doing it for the Q (just for fun) but I saw a car with reflective housings and the halo effect was all but lost.

could be done similarly to how that kid did it, without much difficulty. true about the reflective housing, but you could just -hi temp paint the chrome part of housing flat black to compensate. would look very slick on the J in my opinion, i had the same idea a while back.

just paint the inside of the housings flat black, and then shave the turnb signals and paint over it in the stock body colour. hook up the front amber running lamps as turn signals, and your pretty much even road legal. would look something like this.

If something like that was done to a Q, it would look pretty much like a BMW.

except missing the kidney grille and special hood shape. sort of how like ford ripped off the 5 series for its lincoln LS.

yea...so you think its possible to do? can you explain this

and then shave the turn signals and paint over it in the stock body colour. hook up the front amber running lamps as turn signals, and your pretty much even road legal. would look something like this.

Im not really sure what you mean by that. Also, how hard is it to open up the light housing?

dont have a J30 handy here, look at your own headlights. very well might be that same thermoplastic adhesive as that kid discussed.

i was simply explaining what would have to be done to make the j30 in the picture i attached look like that, and to make it road legal.

could i just get a switch...like for the neon lights that some people use...and run that to the halos to make them light up? seems like an easy way to do things. im just most worried about getting the headlights apart.

tap them into the parking light wires, instead.

Hey, No offense but those painted lenses next to the headlights look ugly. It takes away the beauty, dont you think?

Take care.

as stated earlier, the purpose is to make the angel eyes brighter. without flat black paint on the inside of the assembly, the eyes wont stand out as well.

as for the shaved turn signals, its a matter of taste. the reasons behind is because if the inside of the headlisght assembly is made dark, you then have a floating turn signal, which looks even worse.

How about just painting a black ring directly behind where you would mount the rings of the angel eyes? Then you wouldn't have the floating turn signal problem. And if you etch the back of the plastic rings the light will refract to the front. The reflective housing shouldn't affect it THAT much. This could only be proven by trying it first.

good ideas, but a test would be necessary, in all cases.

Easily tested via junk yard parts, that way you don't take a chance on messing up yours.

To answer all questions in this string so far...the glass or "reflective" housing does not diminish the halo effect. I have a set of Angel Eyes on my J that I did myself and they work perfectly.

Tap into your parking lights. Don't make them blinkers.

Don't paint your housings black because then you ruin the chrome concept of your J. Stay with your luxury apperance...don't permenantly modify your car that much just for a set of lights.

Check out my car and send my ya'lls picks to...later! :)
