I am throwing an SR into my 75' 280z, replacing internals, upgrading turbo, ect. looking to run it anywhere from 10lbs - 25lbs, and peak power being around 450hp.

just wondering, i don't see a lot of info on replacing the differential. Is the stock diff on this car beefy enough to take what I'm thinking of throwing at it?

yup, assuming your 280 started life with a manual trans it's got the R200, same as the s13/14, z32 n/a, z31's etc, yes it'll take 450 whp all day long without a hiccup, might wasn a LSD carrier tough

There are guys who throw V8's in 280's on the stock diff. I think you should be fine.

The weak link is actually the half shafts and/or the 5th gear in the S30 5speeds

280zx turbo half shafts are the best for that situation I believe, and the t5 transmission shouldn't be a problem since you're swapping the sr in there.

sr20 is not going to be able to touch the torque needed to destroy an r200. This is of course assuming it is not on its way out already.......
