Should be the man to beat...He got alot of HP and torque with very few mods...fuel managemnt and forgies + boost...very nice. Gives me an idea of what I'll be getting at that boost level. Sure is nice to see a fellow KA man crank up the wick.

Should be around 10.70's (@~125) if still at full weight and provided he can hold the traction. But then, there are MANY other factors involved. It's just unbelievable how everyone always debates the SR vs KA (or KA vs SR, not be biased). Anyway, good luck to him! :)

A good debate is always cool. As long as people are making valid points. Not just coughing up whatever opinion they believe cause they read it in some F&F magazine. The KA is an untapped resource. Obviously, look what Mike has run with basically nothing but adding boost and gas on a slightly built bottom end. A port and cams will wake that beast up considerably.

Although, he will have to worry about the same thing I'm debating on right now. Just how much torque will that transmission hold up to??

My understanding is that the transmission aft of the bellhousing is identical tot he SR other than some possible gear ratio differences in the top gears.

I was thinking along the lines of a 300ZX transmission...I'll probably buy a few different types just to see how much machine work it will take to have an adapter plate fabbed up. Or perhaps start looking into transmission rebuilds. There are a few options, but none of them are cheap.

i don't think anyone has ever really pushed the limits of the KA/SR transmission. even with 100K+ miles on them, they've proven to hold some considerable power. age seems to kill them before power does.

This guy would be Mike Lee, one of the early KA-T pioneers. The specs on his T66 is P-trim, on-center, .58 A/R

A while ago I read that the transmission in the 240's is the same model # as the ones used in the skylines, 300zx/fairlady, silvia, hardbody truck, and Laurels with different gearing. I just don't know the credibility of the article I believe it was out of a Super Street.

so the sr transmission will fit the ka24de engine?

if so would the gearing be "better"?

That 504whp KA-T is awesome. I knew these engines would get there one day. There are many good things going for them that it was a matter of time. I'm glad someone was able to do it. Now lets just wait to see if he can reach the 700whp goal he set for himself. I'd love to have a 504whp 'shakedown' run!

Apparently, the KA transmission will bolt up to the SR engine as long as you swap the KA transmission's bellhousing to the SR's. I don't know about vice versa but I would assume that would work too. Although, I can't image it being worth it, compared with other upgrades (there may be no benefit at all...I dunno).

A 300ZX TT trans would be the best and cheapest solution but would need to be modded to fit. I know on the z32 transmission it has a shifter linkage so that would be somthing to ponder. :D :D

This trans could hold 700HP maybe more!
