I got home from a friends last night and when I got home I noticed that even after I turned off my car that my brake lights were on. I went out and restarted the car... the same result... brake lights were still on...Does anyone have any idea why my brake lights were on after I turned off the car and I looked to make sure that nothing was touching the brakes? I would really appreciate it... Jeff in Hollywood, Fl

I'm not sure about the I30, but if it's anything like the Q45 then one of the brake lamps or brake lamp sockets might have burned through. On the Q the light module pulls out from the trunk by squeezing a pair of plastic tabs. I suspect the I30 may be similar. Check the bulbs for melting of the lead contacts and the sockets for burning/shorting. Good luck.

I would guess that it's a shorted (bad) brake pedal switch.

Definitely look at the pedal switch first.
