Is there ANY WAY to open a driver's side door that is locked? I've been locked out, climbing in through the passenger's side of my Q since the end of April. For some reason I can't get the door panel off to look into and unlock the door. Maybe it's because the door is closed, I don't know. I replaced the passenger's side window, and that was simple (had pro help). Door panel came right off when the door is open.

Does anyone know the proper technique to slim jim a '95Q's door mechanism? I can't figure it out and it's driving me CRAZY! I have the door panel loose enough at the top to see down into the door.

Good luck with that. When I was locked out I had a couple guys try their damnedest to open it. Finally, one locksmith had to sneak a rod under the window and inside the car to pull the inside latch.

When I pull the lock from the inside it doesn't unlock the door. I can see it move the mechanism down inside the door at some white plastic box, but the door still won't open. This white plastic box is where the rods from the handles go, it's near where the actual door latch locks into the door frame.

Don't understand, since April no locksmith or dealer in the S.E. has been able to open the door? Or you a non trained inexperienced non car thief cannot open it. The thing is designed to be hard otherwise everyone would breakin. You have chosen not to spend the $75-$90 at dealers or locksmith to get them to open the car and pull the inside panel off for you for 75 days.

Just trying to understand.

The plastic junction where the lock rods converge is probably broken.

Takes a plastic wedge and a Special locksmithing/dealer tool [bent strong wire rod] convoluted shape.
