Sorry for the stupid question, but when I'm logged in, I can see pictures in some threads and some of the threads just say (image) and nothing shows. More specifically I was looking at the fog/driving light replacement thread and can't see the pics Ilya posted. I'm not sure if they're just old and have been de-linked from where they were hosted or if there's something in my settings I need to change.

When we had an upgrade some of the older threads lost the images somehow. Not sure exactly what happened.

Most people are unaware that pictures posted in threads are not hosted (stored) on the NICO forum servers, but are in fact links to hosting site like imageshack, photobucket, etc.
As biggie mentioned, we've lost a few things during recent upgrades. Sometimes we can track down the missing pics, but not always.
Additionally if the person posting the image doesn't maintain their account with the 3rd party hosting site, the account gets closed, which then causes dead links. Once that happens, unless the member is active here so we can contact them to fix it, there's pretty much no way to restore the missing images.

I haven't posted pics but I'm aware that they are hosted elsewhere so it makes sense that some of the older pics might have a corrupted link after upgrades. Thanks for the info!

Which thread were my posts not showing in? I can investigate. I use IMGUR and my account is most definitely active, but it's possible I hosted one or two elsewhere if they weren't particular to my car, etc.

Hmm, interesting. There are no broken images in that thread. What browser are you using?
