So the car has been driven around once and awhile, the problem is that I can't get the car to past 5k.

I replaced the TPS and set it to the correct voltage.O2 Sensor was replaced.MAF is in working condition.Car idles normal in cold/warm weather.Could it just be bad timing? PCM? Ground? MAF? O2 Sensor? Vac leak? Boost Leak? <- Doubt it

You can feel that the car has a rough idle. While looking at the boost gauge you could see the Vac isn't constant either. It has a Mild bog to it.On my PCM there's 2 Fuel map settings (stock & aggressive) Tried both settings... no change in the rev limit but faster acceleration.

Before I replaced the TPS, the SR was able to get past 5k ONLY at half throttle. Once you floor it, 5k is the set rev limit.

I seriously think the timing is off. I just need the people of NICO to make sure. (Almost got a ticket testing this car at night lol)

I'll be pulling ECU codes in the morning, and if I get notthing I'll check the plugs for anything foul.

Thanks~Jeff

While the Brake is applyed during heavy boost, the car instantly dies. Seems I have a Boost leak somewhere around the SMIC which could be causing all these problems.Idle can't be adjusted by the screw next to the injectors also. No matter how far you turn it left or right, idle is the same. Bounces around 900-1100 once n awhile.

I'll check more on it 2marrow~Jeff

(After thinking more about the brake killing the engine during peak boost, could that've been caused from bad/or faulty wiring? The more I think about it, I dont see how a car running around 3-4k just die from just hitting the brake.)

Most likely it is your timing and a faulty/dirty IACV. Check timing by disconnecting TPS and turning car on and revving it 2-3 times to 2,000RPM then let it idle while you use timing gun to set at 15 degrees BTDC. OK, now set idle speed to 800RPM by adjusting the IACV/ACC screw. Once set turn off car and reconnect TPS. Turn car back on and check idle, it should be at about 850-900RPM now that TPS is reconnected. If not, check the ACC and clean/replace if needed.

It's been awhile since I last worked on it, now the car doesn't flat out start.

It started yesterday but now It just cranks cranks cranks. While being cranked friends say there's a Huge burst of black smoke. After that now its just white smoke.

Old Thread, but I hope this helps a few people here with similar problemsSince I didn't provide the answers to the thread, here it is.

Turns out it was a bad O2sensor/Temp sensor/Boost LeakThe IAC was fine after I replaced the gasket and carb cleaned it. The resistance the Temp sensor kept sending the pcm jumpy readings on random days and caused the car to bog at idle and under load. Randomly Leaning/riching the mixture. This also solved my problem with the SR running super rich. I dont see a cloud of black smoke anymore hahaha.

So save yourself the trouble, if you have the same problems as I had, just spend the 20bucks and replace it.

I got the part from a 89 Nissan Pickup 4x4 model. Good luck nico
