Can't raise quarter windows after putting top back up...

Call me a nOob, but my girlfriend just brought a used 93 Nissan 240sx convertible, and we went to put the top down today. Well, the Quarter windows lowered when she hit the top down button but we have not been able to get them to raise, either with the top up button or the either of the quarter window buttons on the panel between the seats. Infact- those don’t seem to do anything. No noise or anything. Any ideas anyone? Help?

Did you make sure the window lock button isn't pressed? It happens.

You could pull the center console and make sure the switches are still connected to the harness.

Hopefully it's one of those, or maybe a fuse.

If you are still having problems (and it's not the window lock button)...

are the driver side & passenger side front windows also not working? - i.e. only going down, but not up? If so, then your power window amp (located behind the back seat for s13 verts) is probably out, that's what happened to mine.

The switch for the rear quarter windows have also been known to go bad. If the power amp goes out, it usually affects all windows.

I believe someone here uploaded the Convertible Supplement FSM that you can d/l and go thru troubleshooting steps.

Mine go down fairly quick but go up really slow. They wiggle around alot maybe they are trying to come up but just got out of wack enough that they aren't coming back up.

Same thing happened to me. But after freakin' out for about 20 mins before a big rain storm I remembered the window lock button on the drivers side door. Pushed it and they came up fine. Think more then two dozen of us on here have done the same thing. Hope you get it fixed.

That's your guides - you can look @ the write up on how to replace all 3 somewhere on this subforum (I believe if you search "rear window" or "rear window guides" you should find it fairly quickly).

Raised this thread from the dead didn't you...hehe. Like others have noted, first: make sure your window lock button is not pushed in on the drivers side window controls...if it is, when the top is lowered the windows will lower but will not come back up at the quarter window switch until you unlock the windows. Second: it could be your quarter window switch...these switches tend to fail...my first switch had to really be pushed hard to get them to go up. Lastly: it could be your power window amp behind the rear seat...some have said you can tap it with a screwdriver or something while trying the switch and you may get them up...or it may need replacing.

No...they do not raise when the top is closed...you have to bring the windows up at the switch. They lower so they don't get damaged while the top is in motion.

Hope this helps and clears up a few things .
