Well i have been looking for a 95+ 240 for around 6000 and haven't been able to find one. I was trying to decide on the 240sx or a 1g eagle talon tsi. But i came across a 95 talon tsi and gonna go look at it tomarrow. It has 97,000 and seems to be in really good condition. Don't know if it is a awd or just fwd because the lady is around 40 and she doesn't no. So she put her husband on the phone and he said its rwd, it was sort of funny. I wanted a awd but i think i will buy it either way. As long as nothing is wrong with it. I'll let you know.

Hmm,

I like to be positive but keep in mind this:How good a care can the car have gotten when the two know so little about it?

and bein force fed for that many miles, think of the wear. i mean DSM's aren't known for their reliability in the first place. i'm not tryin to not get you to buy it, cause i like talons, they're sweet lookin! just dont want you to get a rotten deal. have you carfaxed it?

No cuz i don't have the vin for it. Yeah i know the reliablility for dsm's suck. I rather get the 240sx if i could ever find one. But everybody wants to much for them. Or the miles are way to high. They said that they have all the paperwork done to the car.

Well no they only had the car for 3 years. I asked him how it shifted because dsm are notorious for having ****ty trannies. He said that when they bought it, it grinded into gear and they took it to the shop and it is all better now. I don't know maybe i will just pass it up and keep looking for a 240sx. It will be a lot slower for a year or so untill i could save up enough money for the sr20 swap. There is one at one of those small dealerships for 6995 it has 97,000 on it. It is also black with a moonroof. Which doesn't really seem like to good of a deal but if you compare it to the other prices for those cars i guess its not bad. But the car came from florida and was bought at an auction from there. I don't know how cars from florida are. I know at least the nissans are a lot more realiable then the dsm are, well at least from what i hear.

check that other 240 out. make sure there isn't sand everywhere and all that good stuff, look at the oil dipstick and make sure there isn't little pieces of stuff in the oil and that its not really really black (the dealer should change it). just check stuff out on it, and you should be able to get the dealer down. 6995 is alot. what year 240 is it? is it an SE?

I *think* all Talon TSIs were AWD...it was the Eclipses that could be either FWD or AWD.

No, they aren't the most reliable of cars, and that may be something to take into consideration. You might want to do a bit of research on dsmtalk.com before buying anything.

Good luck though. They sure are fun cars with lots of potential. :)

Yeah, I've never heard of a FWD Talon. I must agree, they aren't known at all for their reliability, you'd be better served getting an Eclipse GSX, but those are really hard to find. I'd keep looking if I were you.

All Talon Tsi's were AWD+turbo,.. but they also made nonturbo + FWD talons.

were called Si's I think.

A well working Tsi is a fast and well handling car.

The GSX is the AWD version of the GS-T which is the turbo version of the GS.

Guy at my school just got a non-turbo manual Supra. Rumor has it he can't drive a stick and has ripped his clutch to pieces. I'd take that car, even though it is non-turbo. I've been taught to drive a stick already, but NO! I have to be 15 and wait...

Oh well, my time will come.

i would take a supra if it wasn't a turbo, i could care less if its a turbo or not. it'd be nice if it was, but i wouldn't care. i love supra's.

Well no not all tsi's are awd. They do make fwd models. Just not as common as the awd tsi's. They just don't have a different name like the gst and gsx. Around where i live they are hard to find for a good price though. The car was a fwd tsi. I drove the car and everything seemed good. They exterior and interior was in great shape. Except the back rear bumper was faded. I also did a carfax on it with no problems but she bought it from a small dealership that bought it from an auction. From what i understood from the carfax. I was ready to buy it but they woudn't except a personal check and just mail me the pink slip later, even though i showed them my bank statement showing i had the money. I didn't have time to pull money out of the bank before they closed on saturday. So i gotta call them back on tuesday. But since it was a 2 hr and 20 min drive i was a little upset. They were a little weird. I found a 94 mustang gt that was also black. I looked at that on the way home. I think i like it a little more. It has edlebrock heads, intake, headers, cobra clutch, b&m short shifter, bassani x pipe, flowmaster exaust, msd ignition, monster tach, kahmilion cd head unit, and its leather interior. It has 110,000 on it though. The car is pretty nice. He wants 8000 for it but he said he would take 7000. But the car woudn't start because the battery was completly dead, we jumped it and i drove it around it ran good. But then when we got back it died on me. So i don't know. The guy said he would take it to his mechanic and see whats up with it. So i told him i would also call him tuesday. I read the paper on the way home and i found a 93 tsi awd, but haven't been able to get ahold of the lady to ask how many miles on it. It is white and looked pretty clean. The 1g's are alot more reliable then the 2g's and they have a bigger turbo. I'm gonna try to get ahold of her first. I would buy the 240sx at the dealership that wanted 6995 but the guy said he woudn't go down in price and my dad woudn't loan me the extra money for a car at one of those small dealerships, he doesn't trust them. Sorry for the long post and i will let you know again.

Actually, the GS and the GS-T/GSX is a different engine, the GS is a plymouth engine, and the other two are the dreaded Mitsu 4g63s (is that the right engine code?)

The non-turbo talons are ESi's.

Don't get a FWD turbo, if you're gonna get a DSM get the awd turbo, don't accept anything less. Try to find a 1g one, possibly with low miles, they can be had for pretty cheap.

Don't buy cars from small dealers, or ones that were bought at auctions. My uncle buys used cars from auctions like that....believe me, most of them you wouldn't want to be buying. Find a private owner, or a large dealership that deals with new cars (you know ones that have a ton of trade-ins or whatever).

I got a 96 base with 79k for 5600 at a dealership. Just be patient.

Well i decided not to get the tsi fwd because I know i would just end up regretting it. Because there is no feeling like launching a awd car. I'm still looking for a 95-98 240sx or 90-94 talon tsi awd. But i'm sort of thinking about getting the mustang gt. It has 110,000 miles on it but it is real clean and has about 3000 in mods. I also found a 94 gt convertable with only 77,000 miles on it for 7000. I'm thinking about that one to but i don't think i want a convertable. I didn't really want to get another mustang but when i drove it and felt the torque and the sound of it. Damn it was nice. But i also love the looks of the 240sx more and the awd of the talon. I like the sound of a turbo car also. Decisions, decisions.....

Uterus because people call that body style eclipse and talon girl's cars. Don't worry about the mullet comment, if you don't care about conservation i.e. gas mileage, buy the GT. My mom and uncle each have one and they are very sweet. 94 is the 5.0 also. I love my RWD 4 cylinder 240SX, but it will need a lot of work to be as fast or sound half as good as the mustang. (Of course I paid $2600 for my 93 with less miles than that mustang, but whatever.) Good luck with whatever you choose.

I'm pretty sure all Tsi's are AWD as well. 90% positive.

Well, that leaves only two questions about her left. 1. Is she still alive? 2. Is she hot?
