Hello,

97 J30, 50K, PHX AZ

While the driver door is open the security light blinks and dings constantly. When I push the lock button or use the lock under the handle, it immediately unlocks.

With the door closed, I use the key to lock the door and it immediately unlocks again.

The key fob no longer works. Any botton on the fob I push does nothing in the car (or opens the trunk) and the fob beeps.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,George

I did a search of "Infiniti General" forum under "door lock actuator" and came up with this:

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....uator

There could be much more on the entire site.

Man! There is a a lot of good **** on this site. You forget sometimes.

Hello,

Do you mean a tone like the one that sounds when the key is left in the ignition?

When I push the lock button or use the lock under the handle, it immediately unlocks.

With the door closed, I use the key to lock the door and it immediately unlocks again.

Sounds like the door lock actuator to me. Could a failing door latch also do this?

The key fob no longer works. Any botton on the fob I push does nothing in the car (or opens the trunk) and the fob beeps.

I've nver heard my remote beep. Perhaps the 97 unit is different from my 95. To reactivate the remote you can try removing the battery, press the lock button, resinstall the battery and the car should "buzz" twice indicating normal operation has been restored. However, if the actuator or door latch is faulty then I don't know if this would fix anything. Could be your remote is causing your problem or failing components are causing the fob to act up.
