Can't jump start 2000 Pathfinder!!!!

When I hook the cables up correctly it keeps sparking and literally melting the metal. We are talking huge sparks! It's like when you hook it up backwards. I verified it was not. Both blacks were on negative and both reds were on positive.

Could be an internal short in the battery you are trying to jump. Best to pull it out and take it to the parts store and let them test it.

I would not try to jump it again - it could damage the electronics in the car you are using to jump from.

I replaced the positive terminal with a Raptor nickel plated lug. I also tied in the fuse box connection into the lug as well. The positive terminal and fuse box terminal were both severely corroded. Works great now!
