I believe that after a hard days work, our men and women deserve the option of having a whopper. I understand the logistic of freeing up space for an additional 35k in troops, and that war is not supposed to be fun, but really, would having a nice juicy hot burger not be one of the best ways to relieve some stress and remind you of the American ways you are fighting for?

I'm just a civilian, my opinion doesn't count in the military.

For me, BK and DQ and KFC are not what this country is worth fighting for!

It is the freedoms - speech, democracy, right to vote, right to b**** about politicians , right to live where I can afford to do so, earn what I can, get ahead through hard work (not by "social class" or who I know), etc., etc., etc.

So, I am unsure as to whether the actions mentioned in the OP are good or bad ...

Since I was a kid we've supported the troops overseas by sending packages containing things like cookies, candies, snacks, magazines, newspapers, etc. to provide them with a few little pleasures of home.

Stupid us. Apparently all you need to do to support the troops is say it by sticking a stupid magnet on the back of your car and/or wearing a flag lapel pin.

I'm all for military management doing what they feel they need to do to take care of the Afghanistan issue in the best way they know how.

Rather than complain about the the fact troops can't buy a hamburger, try showing some effort in your support for the troops and send them something. That will help them get home quicker than a Double Whopper with cheese they have to pay for. And provide a much bigger morale boost.
