So i took off my trans to put my clutch fork back in place (not sure if it needed to come off to do this or not) and now I can't get it to go back into place. The trans lines up for the most part but there is a gap that is about 3/4 of an inch between the motor and the bell housing. I just can't seem to make it go the rest of the way in. Does anyone know why this is happening or know of any tricks to get the thing back in?

So there is nothing special i would need to do... I don't need an alignment tool or anything?

unbolt the transmission crossmember from the transmission, and then bolt the cross member to the chassis, but set it back one set of holes. That will support the back of the transmission roughly where it should be, and will allow you to play around with it alot, without worrying about it falling off the jack.
