Can't Get In My Truck, door handles..

So It was freezing last night and I was trying to get in my pathfinder from the drivers side and noticed I had a hard time turning the key to get in. I tried lifting the door handle (which was stiff) and then "BAM" the handle came very loose! It seemed like perhaps a clip or cable to the door handle broke? I went over and had to go in from the passengers side which was ok. I can open the interior drivers side, but CAN'T from the exterior anymore. Anyone know what it is? Do I need to replace my whole door handle? Do I need to open the whole panel to hook something back on? Thanks

no way to guess without taking the panel off and looking inside. welcome to nico, by the way!

Yah Im going to try that out. (opening the panels) its just I heard taking these things out were a pain in the @**. Thanks

no the panels are very easy to take off - 2 minutes.

its like two screws (one in door armrest, one behind interior handle)

and the rest you pop off (clips) some of the clips will stay in the metal part of the door- before reinstalling, you must remove those and reattach them to the panel for a secure fit.
