I posted this question once before & didn't get the answer. What is the timing for my 96 Q45? My timing marks have no numbers so which end is which? Thanks.

Base spark timing is 15* BTDC. Not sure about the marks...the farthest one to the right is probably 20*BTDC but I'm not certain. How many marks are there? None of them is larger and more pronounced than the others?

Thanks. Mine is set at the farthest mark to the right. That means mine is set to 25 degrees BTDC. If stock is 15 then mine is retarded. Literally. lol I knew there was something wrong with my timing. I will work on reducing those pics too.

No that means your car was running WAY advanced... Sounds like SOMEONE was fiddling with the CAS!!!

You are right now that I think about it. Advanced not retarded.

On the driver's side in the rear of the engine bay by the wiring that goes into the cover for the spark plugs there is a wire loop. Attach the timing light pick up to that and you can check timing. My friends mostly have Z32TTs & the Q is surprisingly similar to the TT is many ways. This is one.

Another similarity is the suspension. I already installed solid tension rods from a TT onto my Q. Those got rid of my front end shake as one stock bushing was leaking. Next I will install adjustable fr/r upper control arms from my 95 TT. Then finally I will be putting an entire N/A subframe, (it has all new NON-silcone bushings) 4.08 diff, and spindles into my Q. The only thing I have to figure out is the driveshaft. I may have to have one made for me. It's nice to have all these parts laying around to swap into & test fit. So far my 95 TT has donated many new things to my Q. I'm converting the TT back to stock & selling it to my bro, which is why I'm using all these perf. parts from it.
