I'm going to be "upgrading" my wheelset (actually stepping down 2" in size) to 15" lightweight wheels for autocross/street use. I'd prefer them in 7-8" width, but 6.5" is the absolute minimum width I want. However, any lightweight 15" wheels I find are almost exclusively available in 4 x 100 size (damn hondas/miatas) and I need 4 x 114.3. Does anyone know of any lightweight (around 12-13 lbs for 15 x 7') wheels that aren't going to break the bank? (I don't want to pay more than $800 for the rims alone). Look is all subjective, although I'd love a gunmetal/bronze color....

I went to Lime Rock Race Track today for the North Atlantic Road Racing Championships...new york region...and found that almost every miata had Kosei K1-Racing rims...if anyone knows of where to get this in 4 x 114.3 in 15", please supply links.

I also fell in love with panasport wheels...I love the look...again, if you can find the street wheels in 4 x 114.3, 15", post some links.

Also, because I will be decreasing the size of my wheels and won't be able to fill my wheel wells vertically, I want to be able to fill them horizontally. Doe anyone know the stock offset of 15" OEM Nissan 4 lug rims that came on a base model 1995 Nissan 240sx?

What's the minimum offset you can use on a 15" x 7" wheel with around 215 series tires that will make them fill the wheel well enough without requiring fender-rolling?

My car is not that low, and I've never had an issue with rubbing...I'd love to have these 15" wheels flush with the wheel wells, especially considering there will be more space now between the top of the tire and the beginning of the well.

I was thinking of something like + 20 offset, but all the wheels I see are like +40mm offset, which I know will look horrible.

I don't have to worry about clearing coil overs or Z-brakes...

Thanks a lot for any info, I'm particularly interested in knowing the minimum offset you can use on a 15" wheel with 215 tires on a base model S14.

Marc

PS---There was a 240sx coupe (1990) running in GT3 and it came in third...it had a carburetted KA24E N/A making 260 horsepower, and the car weighed only 2000 lbs...It was beautiful to watch that car RAPE V8 GT2 Corvettes...

Yes, I found that the +40 offset was stamped right on my stockers...I found some 15 x 6.5 +22 offset rims on ebay which I think would fill my wheel wells beautifully..I just gotta find out what each one weighs...

The FN-01R-C's are beautiful...and horribly expensive (around $300/wheel)...that's more than a forged 3 piece racing wheel.

The Panasports IMO look awesome--nice and oldschool...however, they are very expensive too ($800), and I can't find anywhere that actually SELLS the stinkers!

5-lug...why? It's just more weight...that and the fact that NA 300zx wheels are probably just as heavy as the ones i have on now...

Yes, that GT3 240sx was absolutely GORGEOUS...the thing was soooo tricked out...260 HP from a SOHC 2.4 liter NON fuel injected is AMAZING in my mind...mine probably doesn't even put that out fuel injected, DOHC, with 9 psi of boost...I love race engines! The thing sounded gorgeous wound out on the lime rock straight...He was running 1:00 flats on the 1.6 mile course, an average speed of well over 90 mph on a pretty tight road course...again, he got 3rd in his class and anally RAPED numerous V8's including 2 corvettes, mustangs, etc...one of the Vettes was brand new, which means he had MINIMUM 350 HP...just goes to show you how LIGHTER is better...It was a thing of beauty to watch him work his way up through the pack. If anyone can host pics, I have like 6 pics of the car...The driver/team was extremely nice too...thats what I love about SCCA racing...every car I checked out, the owner came out and talked to me in a friendly manner about it...This guy was running the 15" Panasports and probably 13" wilwood brakes...talk about a tight fit!

Anyhow, keep the info coming!

Yes, the regular cast 5zigens, the FN-O1R-C is like $175...the forged ones are at least $100 more...They're light racing wheels, and the price reflects it...I didn't know about this photo-host thing on the nico forums--I LIKE!

here's the "album" http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....r=644

It's not extra weight unless you count the weight of the extra stud....
