What the heck, I understand that this item is dealer only. Also most of the Pathfinders and QX4's have the same problem as mine, they rust out.

Does anyone know where I can get a aftermarket or cheap replacement? Even the junk yards won't give them up un less you by the whole door.

i bought mine from courtesyparts.com it was very costly with brokerage fees to come here in canada. All 4 cost me close to $600 shipped. still cheaper than dealer and no eyesore. The WORST spot is under the mirrors..

I did the same thing as QXXX4. Ordered them from courtesy parts.
There are no aftermarket or cheap replacement parts available.
You have to go OEM. Sorry.
I didn't ship to Canada though (I live in Ottawa, Ontario).
I had them sent to a friend in Virginia, and picked them up there while on vacation.
They were still over $100.00 each though.

Maybe try a junkyard/wrecking yard. My friend went to one in Florida and bought two for the rear windows in perfect condition for $10.

I really wouldnt recommend that, the stripping is basically strips of easily bendable metal coated in rubber. They pretty much clamp on and when you remove it you ave to bend the metal to get the damn things off. Even if you take them from a used vehicle they may look fine but under the mirrors of the front door it will be all rotten. The weatherstripping actually goes all along under the mirror.

I cant find my post from when I did mine so here are some photos of what mine looked like last year. the edges of the new stripping had exposed metal so no wonder they get so damn rotten. i ended up putting a slab of black RTV on each end, shot in the dark to help extend their life. Notice all the RUST. I couldnt see any of it, only small bubbles, no brown. But once I took them off they basically fell apart and broke apart and all the rust was exposed. ESPECIALLY under the mirrors. I really dont recommend buying used ones. Sure their expensive, but you really dont want loose fitting stripping or else water will collect under the stripping and get inside the window area, really not a good idea.

THIS is why I replaced them, this was the worst spot, but notice in the pictures that follow how bad things really were..

Having replace all four of mine, I totally back you up on this one QXXX4.
Even if the used ones are in perfect shape on the donor vehicle, you will ruin them just taking them off.
It's impossible to get them off without bending or damaging them in some way.
They seem to be a one time use only item. Go new.

I have done this twice now and I have to say it was much easier to do the second time. For the back windows if you take the little rear glass it makes it much easier to take out the backs without bending and for the fronts loosen the mirrors and you should be fine.

I bought four from a mechanic in the states for about 100 a piece and I agree with go new you'll get longer life out of them

Anyone have part numbers?? Rust bubbles are driving me crazy-price sounds absolutely insane for little pieces of junk...

Edit

Looks like Nissan part number 82830 for rear passenger window at the low low price of $93.66... What a Joke

Just replaced the rear passenger window side. $78 thanks to McKinney Nissan!!!

And just like Brian said above, there is No Way I could remove these pieces without damaging them. And mine too basically broke apart when I removed it from rust. Nice pics by the way Brian.

Appreciate info. Will throw some black rtv on the ends before installing new one this weekend.

Its been almost 2 years and the mouldings I bought are still brand new :) You will notice a difference at first in the shiny-ness between the new moulding and the trim around the window but after a few washes and sitting in the sun they start to match better.

Not much of a difference in the colors/shiny-ness actually. Pathfinder has spent most of its life in the garage. May have to spring for the other side now. Still insane how expensive they are (even at a discount).
