My wife has tried filling the gas tank at a couple of pumps and the nozzle just keeps clicking off.

The check engine light has also come on. I'll try and pull a code tonight.

Anyone have a fuel system diagram? Thinking clogged vent or purge, but not sure what's in the system.

thanks

Further digging here looks like there's a good chance the vent control valve is stuck in the closed position.

What is with Nissan's and their VCV problems. I've never owned another brand of car where I got the P0455 or P01446 SES codes more often. 2005 pathfinder has had this issue since we got it in 2008. I've never fixed it. It doesn't prevent us from filling the tank, just from topping off. And we just got the P0455 on the 2010 Rogue a few mornings ago. Possibly due to a loose gas cap, but not sure. It hasn't come back yet. But my buddy's 2004 Maxima, 2008 Altima, etc etc they all have this problem with the codes and failed vent valves.

Good luck on the fix, its not that hard, rockauto carries them. Wonder if Aftermarket is better than OEM?

I've removed and cleaned my VCV twice now. I have a 2008 with about 85000 miles. The first time was in 2012 and the last time was about a month ago. Read about it in this thread: topic514045.html?hilit=vent
Both times the check engine light went off and stayed off. I would at least try and clean it before spending $ on a new one. If I can keep going 4 years between 20-minute cleanings and avoid replacing it, I will.

There is also info in that thread if your code happens to be P0444, which can have the same symptoms but is related to the wiring.

That Amazon Link lists the part for $243! (edit - this is just because I was redirected to the stupid Amazon.ca site, the price on the .com site is $115)

Rockauto carries a Dorman A/M VCV for $60

Courtesy nissan has them for $108.

14935-AM60B CONTROL VALVE $143.15 $107.36
