can't figure out what small springs are for.

These are the coils I have installed on my s13. on each coilover there are 2 springs, what is the small one for? Is it a preload spring? Do I have to have it? I ask because it keeps me from lowering the car as much as I want to.

The term is 'helper spring'. They supposedly smooth out low-speed bumps.

There are also a few other benefits that are escaping my mind right now.

They are gabs and I love em. super stiff. i can only dd with the dampers at 2. 4 is just insanely bouncy. I was gonna get the megan tracks but I got a deal I couldn't pass up on these.

Sorry. Just saw GAB stickers on them. Stupid me. I was wondering about these cuz they have huge ad. in many Japanese car magazines. Should be better than Megan.
