Can't figure out what is loose in the front suspension, pulls left, then right!

OK, I had an accident in the fall when I went off the road, but things weren't messed up too bad. I bent a tie rod and control arm, so I replaced the control arm and took apart the tie rod and straightened it.

So, now when I'm driving, the car will pull to the left all the time, however, if I get on it hard and boost up, or take a corner hard, the car totally changes and wants to pull to the right very very hard instead of the left! The camber plates are nice and tight, I'm just lost as to what could be loose and causing my alignment to change so greatly just by accelerating.

Any ideas on what could be happening here? Thanks

Nick

have you gotten an alignment check? It sounds like something is shifting under load....very bad.

Check your T/C rod brakets...

also don't "straighten" a tie rod. Replace it. period. Once it's bent, it will break..why mess with the thing that steers your car and take a chance like that?

If your rear subfrmae has issues, it could be shfiting around a good bit...

I agree something is shifting, just can't figure out what. I'll check the t/c rods to see if there is any play in them. I may replace tie rods, but they're still in good shape.

yes, replace bent or broken parts. did you ever get an alignment after your accident? it would be a good idea to do that before you start diagnosing something that may not even be there.

No, I just got the car back on the road a couple weeks back. I would get an alignment, but I'm afraid I'll have it done, then I'll drive down the road and it'll change thanks to whatever being loose or whatever...so I'm trying to diagnose before I get one done if possible.

Been there, the tie rod if screwed. The bearing at the end is destroyed. Always replace bent or broken parts, never try to just fix them. They never work right after they are damaged.

Bearing at which end? Ball joint end seems fine.

I found the lower strut bolt on the passenger side was loose so I tightened it and it seems to be much better.
