We have a 2001 Bronzed Gray Pathfinder SE. The bumpers and wheel well arch trim is painted a slightly lighter, more silver pewter color. I went to the dealer and it totally buffaloed him, and he said - the car must have been custom painted. Later, I saw vehicles with the same slightly 2 tone color treatment.

Does any body know what that color is? The main color is KXO Bronzed gray, but what is the bumper color?

I need to have some paint to spray on my rear bumper. Here's a warning to all of you out there. The pick up bed spray from Duplicolor is an excellent product BUT BEWARE- it's self etching.

Last weekend I was doing some rust repair on my right rear wheel well, and I got a little squirt on the side of the rear bumper. I had my hands full at the time, so I figured I'd come back later and wipe it off with one of the many solvents I have on hand. NOT- it would not budge! On an area on the door where I had made a quick pass with some lacquer thinner soon after it got sprayed, the thinned bed liner coating stained the paint, to where I had to buff through the clear to get it off!

It is not like a paint where you can come back and wipe it down with some solvent a little later- it etches into the existing surface!!

Best,

Ian't there an options tag somewhere, usually under the hood or in the door jamb?

I have a KX0 2001 too. I also got annoyed at the differing two-tone paint colors. I have not yet found the correct color code for the trim areas. I just painted it all black instead. See here.

And if you look under the passenger taillight, I also got some spray paint overspray (from spraying something else, not while spraying the rear bumper - that was actually off the vehicle, but everything else was just masked off) on my body, and haven't dealt with it yet. :(

Sorry for not being much help. Even Nissan FAST doesn't tell me the trim color, so we're probably out of luck.

OK, That is a brilliant alternative, and by the looks of your pictures, it looks great to. It "lowers" the car visually, or makes it look a bit slinkier.

Sometimes the answer is so damn obvious - you don't notice it. It wouldn't have ever truly matched if I tried to get the same stuff mixed, so instead I go with another color, both bumpers, and wheel arches - cool!

Years ago, with an early Mitsubishi/Chrysler car, they two toned in year two, and the rather chunky, egg shaped body looked a whole lot better.

Super idea!

Thanks,
