Hi guys, I've been doing my homework and putting together the stuff I want for my new G37 for a while now . Went down to the dealers for test drives, numbers, and just seeing the inventory twice now and I still cannot settle down on a color that I really want : /

I'm debating between the amethyst graphite, platinum graphite, and obsidian black. Amethyst seems to have a little more shine than the platinum graphite due to the "purple tint", which is good but platinum is always safe, just that sometimes I feel like it might be a little played out since every other G coupe on the road takes after the gun metal shade. The OB is definitely sexy but I'm not sure if I can keep up and prevent the dreadful swirlies.......

I really want to finalize this one last bit that is holding me up so I can get the awesome low APR infiniti is offering this month. Please helpe me out and give me your inputs. It'd be nice to hear from the perspectives of some owners too, I'd much appreciate it. Thanks!

It is ultimately up to you, but I'm quite satisfied with my Amethyst Graphite/Stone. The shade changes a lot, and there are actually times that you can't even see the purple in it. Under a tent at the Infiniti dealership, even the salesman couldn't tell the difference between AG and PG. There are other times the purple is more prevalent. Whatever... it always looks great.

The PG is also nice, but I agree with you... it is a bit more common. The AG sets it even further apart from the G35 Coupe, since PG is pretty close to Diamond Graphite. IMO, the car looks best in black, but not unless it is washed every other day! I have a black M35 and it looks fantastic after detailing, but for me it's not worth the effort.

Had the same prob, went from PG to AB, considered black but decided not to for maintenance sake and settled on Red. It's like this if your buying a non sport G..aka wood, no sport option.. the other colors fit, if you're buying sport, Blue, Red, Black are Sport colors for my taste and fit the car. As all said before this is personal taste.. take your time, enjoy the journey.

I know it's a difficult decision, but you're just going to have to tough it out.

My car is Blue Slate with Stone interior. Blue Slate is a dark blue/gray. I think it has the attractions of black, but still has a bit of color and is easier to maintain. The light gray interior contrasts nicely with the dark exterior.

The other color I considered was Athens Blue. Without an example to look at, I couldn't tell if it would be reasonable or too gaudy. All the photos I found suggested that it would be right at the edge.

when in doubt.....to paraphrase Henry Ford ' any color as long as it's black'

i like the G by the way in white also....very nice

in my opinion, red is for girls, blue is great when you look toward the heavens, but not in a car, besides everyone I've ever known who bought a blue car regretted it...silver is for old folks, grey is played out, that amethyst whatever seems too bling bling ......

black and white.....classic, sophisticated......
